Recorded live in Lubec, Maine in summer 2023, way down east captures Bellott alone with his instrument and features music by the saxophonist himself, Ben Solomon, Björk, and Duke Ellington.

“Lubec is the end of the road, the easternmost point in the country. Nights of introspection followed by early sunrises set the scene for this concert, the culmination of a month spent largely alone at the edge of the world. I hope this recording conveys the mystery, the beauty, and the quiet loneliness I felt staring out into the endless ocean.”
